<title>International Camp News</title>
<link>http://www.internationalcamp.co.uk/</link>
<description>International Camp was first organised to bring young people together from different parts of Europe to re-establish positive links which had been lost due to the Second World War. The Main focus was a range of activities, camping and the opportunity for young people to discuss issues facing them in the aftermath of war and to share cultural interests and experiences.</description>

			<title>European Commission: Youth in Action programme</title>
			<description>International Camp has received funding from the European Commission through its Youth in Action programme. The funding has supported preparations for and the places of European participants from several different countries and has enabled us to widen the range of cultural backgrounds that the young people can experience whilst at camp. Through its diverse range of activities and non-formal and innovative learning opportunities, the camp promotes anti-racism and anti-xenophobic attitudes alongside the young people's active citizenship in both Europe and the international community.

Here's what some of the members from previous partner groups have had to say about their time at the camp:

&quot;International camp was a great facility for me and my group... In that expedition program we had a chance to meet all of the participants from our village and we still communicate with lots of friends from different countries... People from different countries come together and make a team. These activities have showed that we can do well although we are from different countries and we speak different languages. Moreover before camp we have never met with any black people. And after we met them we recognised that there are no difference between them and us.&quot;

&quot;I have learnt that language barriers are not important and that there are many more ways to communicate with others. It has also been very interesting to understand more about morals and values that other societies hold.&quot;
English participant

&quot;I have learnt lots of things about different cultures and countries. Camp has also showed me that stereotypical views of certain nations is wrong and that you get all different kinds of people from each different nationality.&quot;
English participant

&quot;It was an amazing camp, lots of different people from different places have seen that we are not so different from each other. In one football team there is English, Chinese, Spanish, French, Turkish and German. I think I will never have a chance to play a team like this.&quot;
