For every 12 places booked we offer a free leader place. The price includes accommodation, food and all activities at the camp. It does not include travel at the start and end of the camp, though we can help with arrangements from transfers in this country.

Join as an Individual

If you're not a member of a group that might consider coming to the camp then check the Links Page to see if there is one that you can join in your area or country.

Otherwise you can come to International Camp by yourself or bring a few friends. You will make many more friends before you leave.

The price includes accommodation, food and all activities at the camp. It does not include travel at the start and end of the camp, though we can help with arrangements from transfers in this country.

Join as part of the Service Team

International Camp is run with the support of Young People as members of the Service Team.

You'll be a member of a team helping out in the dining room at meal times, setting up and clearing the entertainment areas, helping to run the Night Café or possibly preparing a DVD of what goes on at camp.

As well as helping things run smoothly you also get to join in the activities on the camp. We allocate everyone to a multi-national village and you'll be supporting the Village Leader to organise village activities both at Mersea and while on the residential. These activities will help everyone from whatever country make as many friends as possible!

This experience can also be used for participants to gain the residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

In return for your help we can offer Service Team members a reduced rate. This includes all accommodation, meals, activities and off site trips. We're looking for people with lots of energy and initiative, who can work in a team, are supportive of others and who have a desire to meet people from lots of different countries and further the aims of the camp.

If you would like to be a member of the Service Team please complete our application form, including details of why you want to come and any particular skills you can offer. No experts required but it's useful to know what people can do.

Return the completed form to Essex Outdoors Mersea along with your camp fee.
